A total of 135 people have tested positive for the coronavirus infection and one has succumbed to the infection in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said.
The death from the coronavirus has been recorded in the country after 73 days.
Before this, a Covid-related death was recorded on May 4. Prior to this, one death was recorded from the infection on April 22.
Though the country was seeing a rise in the number of coronavirus cases no death had been reported.
“The cases were increasing in the past few days. The severity of the infection is seen in people with immune-compromised status,” said Dr Sameer Adhikari, assistant spokesperson at MoHP.
The numbers of infections were recorded from among the 3,041 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
A total of 1,473 samples were tested in PCR while 1,568 samples underwent antigen tests.
With the recent additions, the number of active cases has moved to 1,439 in the country.
Meanwhile, 59 people have been discharged from the health centres in the past 24 hours.
Of those who tested positive of the infection, 54 are from Kathmandu Valley.
