Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has directed the home administration and security agencies to promptly rescue and manage medical treatment for those injured in the Doti earthquake.
A 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit the Doti district in Sudurpaschim Province in the wee hours of Wednesday, killing at least six persons and injuring six others. The quake occurred at 2:12 am, with its epicentre in Purbichauki Rural Municipality-3.
The minister called Home Secretary Binod Prakash Singh, joint Secretary Phanindra Mani Pokharel, and also chief of the Security Coordination Division, the Ministry of Home, and the Disaster Management Division and security agencies and directed them in this regard.
He urged prompt helicopter management (if need be) in rescue and treatment efforts.
Minister Khand also took stock of the situation and rescue efforts for the injured persons. He directed immediate relief and the management of proper accommodation for the affected families. - RSS
