Nepal today recorded 457 new Covid positive cases following testing of 4,651 samples.

One coronavirus-related death too has been reported in the past 24 hours.

Of the 457 new cases, 218 are from Kathmandu valley, with Kathmandu reporting 163, Lalitpur 45 and Bhaktapur 10. Similarly, 62 people from Morang district have tested positive.

Of the positives, 112 are in the age group 21-30. Nine children below age 11 have also tested positive.

With the latest additions, the total number of active cases has climbed to 1,776, out of which 1,183 are from Kathmandu valley itself.

As per the Ministry of Health and Population 48 people have been discharged from the health centres.

It said 75 people have been admitted in various health centres, with 15 out of them being given intensive care and one in ventilator care.
