Elections 2022
By 10:00 am, an estimated 20% of 2100 plus voters cast their ballots in Mahadev Chaur polling centre in Ichangu Narayan of Kathmandu-7.
Though voting looked to go a bit slow as voters picked and dropped ballot papers one after another, many voters seemed to take 4-5 minutes to cast their ballots. Voters were seen hopping from one ballot box to another.
Once inside the booths some elderly voters looked a bit confused with the ballot paper in their hands and the booth representatives directed the voters which box to head for.
The polling centre looked pretty well managed.
Temporary police personnel recruited for the elections were seen supervising the line of voters and directing them which sub-line to follow once inside the outer ring of the booth.
The civil police personnel took charge of the inner circle as their counterparts from the Armed Police Force stood in full alert around the the polling centres.
The Nepal army soldiers armed with rifles patrolled the outer most security ring.
