Bagmati Province registered their fourth consecutive victory in the U-19 National Cricket Tournament, beating Karnali by seven wickets on Tuesday. 

Bagmati chased down the target of 131 runs at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, losing three wickets in 30.1 overs. 

The win put Bagmati level on eight points with Suduspashim, boosting their chances of a place in the final.

Bagmati captain Ashok Poudel contributed 59 runs – the highest score of the inning – in 64 balls with seven fours and a six. 

Poudel and Lucky Kathayat shared a century stand, adding 150 runs for the third wicket to set the tone for the convincing victory. Kathayat remained unbeaten on 51 off 92 balls with eight fours. 

Karnali's Anuj Chunara, Younis Singh and Awas Shah took one wicket each. 

Earlier, Karnali were bowled out for 130 runs in 36.2 over after electing to bat first. 

Karnali captain Bipin Rawal contributed 68 runs off 92 balls with 9 fours. Manish Thapa scored 25 runs and Awas Shah scored 11 runs, but the remaining batters failed to reach double figures. 

Sakriya Karki was the peak of Bagmati bowlers, taking five wickets. 
 

Province 1 defeat Madhesh by 10 wickets

In the day's other match, Province 1 defeated Madhes Province by 10 wickets in a bowler-dominated match at the Mulpani Cricket Ground.

The target of 71 runs presented was completed by Province 1 without a wicket in 19.2 overs. 
For Province 1, Sonu Ansari contributed an unbeaten 45 runs off 67 balls with the help of four fours and a six. Subhan Gahatraj made 24 not out with three fours, playing 50 balls.

Earlier, Madhes were restricted to a paltry 70 runs in 31.3 overs after they won the toss and elected to bat. Apart from Mayan Yadav with 19 runs and W Malik (12), the rest of the batters caved against hostile bowling from Province 1.

Dipesh Kandel and Bipin Mahato took three wickets each, while Sandesh Bhattarai took two wickets.

Province 1 now have four points from four games, but Madhesh are yet to score any point.
