Two Nepali gaming outfits – Trained to Kill (T2K) and DRS Gaming – have advanced to the PUBG Mobile Global Championship Grand Finals.

The event kicks off on January 6 in the Indonesian capital Jakarta, where the world’s 16 best teams compete over three days for the lion’s share of $1.5 million prize money.

The event will be broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook with Nepali commentary. That is in addition to a regular broadcast with English commentary on Twitch, YouTube and Facebook.

The League Stage held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from November 10 to December 4,  Nepali team T2K finished third in a Group Stage to earn direct qualification to the Grand Finals. T2K also became $80,000 richer.

Top three teams of each group qualify directly to the Grand Finals and teams finishing in fourth through 11th position will advance to Survival Stage.

The $2.5 million League Stage features 48 teams, which were divided into three sub stages: Group Stage, Survival Stage and Last Chance.

The teams were then divided into three groups with 16 teams each.

Out of 24 teams in Survival Stage, 16 move to Last Chance. Top five teams make it to the Grand Finals from the Last Chance stage.

DRS Gaming, after a poor start in the group stage, bounced back to finish fourth in the Last Chance, thus clinching a berth in the Grand Finals and a check for $62,000.

SkyLightz Gaming, who finished 32nd in the PMGC rankings, walked away with $32,000 for their effort.
