The 59-year-old coach, who left for Delhi on Monday, emailed his resignation letter on Thursday, CAN acting secretary Prashant Bikram Malla said. “His resignation has been accepted with immediate effect.”
Prabhakar, who was appointed by CAN on August 21 for one year, is the third coach to leave the Nepali national team in the last 15 months.
Australian coach Dave Whatmore resigned as the team’s head coach in September 2021. His successor Pubudu Dasanayake left Nepal in July after only six months.
Nepal played seven one-day international matches under Prabhakar, winning two with five losses.
Although Nepal won the three-match ODI home series 2-1 against the UAE, they failed to win a single match in the ICC World Cup League-2. They lost three of the four ODI matches on the Namibia tour, with the other one being washed out due to rain.
