Two Nepali teams have turned in credible displays in the opening round of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship Grand Finals which kicked off in Jakarta on Friday.
The Brazilian teams, however, ruled the roost in the inaugural round in the gaming showpiece event, featuring the world’s 16 top outfits. A7 is currently leading the table with 78 points, followed by iNCO (69) and INFxCES (54) respectively.
The Turkish team S2G is lying in the fourth spot with 52 points.
Nepali side Trained to Kill (T2K), which secured a direct berth in the finals after finishing third in the Group stage, is currently in fifth place. It has 51 points on the back of 24 eliminations (kills) in the opening round.
In hot pursuit is DRS Gaming which has 48 points to occupy the sixth place on the leaderboard. DRS Gaming, which qualified through two stages of the Last Chance stage, scored a win in one match (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner) and 22 kills.
Geek Fam and IHC Esports are in seventh and eighth places, respectively.
With 12 matches lined up for the next two days, a lot of changes are expected in the standings as teams, which are currently trailing behind, push hard in their quest for a bigger share of $1.5 million.
The winning team in the biggest PUBG Mobile event will get $400,000 richer, while the runner-up take home $200,000 and the third-placed side $120,000.
