Nepal Minute - out of the ordinary

Nepali teams are holding their grounds in the ongoing PUBG Mobile Global Championship Grand Finals in the Indonesian capital Jakarta.

Amid strong opposition from the best gaming outfits on Sunday, DRS Gaming made up two places from its overnight sixth to finish in fourth place.

It has scored 46 eliminations and two wins (Winner Winner Chicken Dinner) to finish with 102 points from 12 matches at the end of Day 2.

The other Nepali team, T2K Esports, however, slid two places to the sixth position. Without a single chicken dinner, T2K currently has 93 points, 10 adrift of fellow Nepali side DRS Gaming.

Brazilian team iNCO retains the top spot with 125 points, while Turkey’s S2G climbed two places up to second with 123 points. Another Brazilian side Alpha 7(A7) Esports is in third on 109 points.
A Chinese team Nova currently lies in the fifth spot on the leaderboard with 96 points.

In PUBG gaming, a kill (elimination) fetches one point to the team, a chicken dinner brings 15 points, and second place 12 points.

With one more day and six more matches to go, teams are expected to press hard to consolidate their position on the leaderboard.

Besides the bragging right, the winning team takes home $400,000. The runner-up pockets $200,000, while the third-place finisher receives $120,000 and the fourth-place team $80,000.

The event is broadcast live on all social media platforms of PUBG Mobile Esports, including YouTube. The matches start at 4:15pm NST. Nepali commentary is also available for the audience in Nepal.
