The Nepali Army and the United States Army have launched joint military drills in Chhauni, Kathmandu.
The 12th edition of the joint exercise has the participation of 35 army personnel from the Nepali Army and 19 from the US Army, according to the Nepali Army.
According to the Nepali Army, the drill will last till February 3 and would be held in Nagarkot as well. The exercise will focus on search and rescue operations during a disaster.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Army recently practiced a rescue operation in preparation for unexpected situations involving cable cars.
On Monday, the Nepali Army, in collaboration with Chandragiri Hills Limited, conducted a cable car rescue operation in Chandragiri, Kathmandu, according to the Nepali Army's Directorate of Public Relations and Information.
Military personnel from the Shree No 1 Disaster Management Battalion and the Yuddha Bhairav Battalion participated in the rescue simulation, according to Brigadier General and Director of Disaster Management Dr Padam Bahadur Buda.
