Power leakage in Siraha district has declined by seven percent this year. The leakage has now reduced to 25 per cent. 

Jitendra Kumar Yadav, chief of NEA Power Distribution Centre in Lahan, said the power leakage has  reduced to 25 per cent from 32 per cent after organising awareness campaigns and applying measures to reduce such leakage.

A total of 1,972 new consumers have received electricity meters in the last fiscal year, according to Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Power Distribution Centre in Lahan.

With this, the number of customers has reached to 65,324.

Yadav also said more than Rs 50.2 million that was pending due was received from 1,354 consumers in the fiscal year 2078/79 BS. 

Likewise, 21 persons involved in power hooking were held and slapped a fine of Rs 1.64 million in the district.
