Nepal is known for its extraordinary views, trekking opportunities, adventure sports, local cuisine and more. But the country has more to offer than that, including buzzing nightlife in cities like Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Being the capital, Kathmandu is the top destination in the country that gives everyone an opportunity to awaken their party instincts. The rise of metropolitan urban communities in the city has led to a surge in the number of nightclubs and bars.

While a majority of party places are concentrated in the Thamel area, other areas too host clubs where tourists and locals can enjoy lively tunes. 

If you are a responsible party animal, put on your best clothes and shoes and check out some of the famous nightclubs (organised here in alphabetical order).

Lord of The Drinks (LOD)

LOD is one of the newest clubs to hit the Kathmandu night scene. Established fairly recently, this multi-level club is known for its appealing drinks, scrumptious food and professional service. It also features in the top 100 clubs of the world. 

Their unique selling point is that they have performances by various artists almost every night on their concert-style stage. And if you are lucky, you might see your favourite singer or DJ performing at the club.  

Grab a drink from their bar and dance the night away with your friends on their massive dance floor. Want a less crowded spot to dance? Head to their second floor to dance whilst having a view of the people on the first floor.

Club Deja Vu

With 20,000 square feet of venue, Déjà vu has a stylish concept that mimics a party house. It has cutting-edge lighting and sound system with a fully soundproof location and a powerful exhaust system. 

The LED walls with video mapping technology attract the young crowd of Nepal. Therefore, it can get a little crowded on the weekends. 

For those looking for privacy and fewer crowds, the club also has two dance floors with separate seating and two exclusive VIP rooms. Both the levels have an exclusive entrance with three bars catering to those people.

Timings: 6 pm to 4 am

Purple Haze

One of the best rock bars in town, locals and tourists choose this place for its crazy and infectious atmosphere. It is the club to be in town if you enjoy rock music, as many local artists are invited to perform at the club.

Additionally, it is also known for tasty food, wonderful drinks and a huge dance floor. They also have an open space where you can listen to all kinds of music. 

Want to lose yourself on Friday nights and bang your head away to their rock music? Go for it. No one is judging. 

Location: Paryatan Marg, Kathmandu

Timings: 7 pm to 5 am

Prive Nepal

A 26,000 square foot area, this club was developed by the Prive group team in Hong Kong. It is located inside the Soaltee hotel and, therefore, sees a lot of tourists that are staying at the hotel. 

In addition to tourists, the club also is popular among locals especially for hosting private parties. Irrespective of that, it is the place to be when you are looking to have a Friday night party without too much crowd. 

Want to have a few drinks before sitting on the dance floor? The separate lounge and bar area provides the space to hang out in comfort before letting your body loose.

Timings: 11 pm to 4 am (Only on Wednesdays, Friday and Saturdays)
