Landslides have affected seven hydropower projects in Myagdi district.
According to the project officials, landslides caused road blockage, making it difficult to supply construction materials and fuels for the projects.
Hydropower projects including Rahughat hydropower, Rahughat Mangale, Upper Rahughat, Thulokhola hydropower, Darbang Myagdikhola, Upper Myagdi I, and Upper Myagdi hydropower have been affected.
Raj Bista, the project manager informed that the construction of embankments and two tunnels for Rahughat hydropower has come to a halt as a result of the failure to supply construction materials due to road blockage.
The 40-megawatt project is developed by the Raghuganga hydropower, the assistant company of the Nepal Electricity Authority. "Landslips at Dagnam blocked the road halting the construction work. Work on the powerhouse and other areas is ongoing though," said Bista.
Supply of goods and construction materials such as diesel, rod, cement, and other explosive materials has been halted due to landslides at Aauri, Chimkhola and Malang, said Prakash Timilsina, an engineer who works for the Tundi Power Company. The Company promotes the 37-megawatt Rahughat Mangale.
According to the Department of Electricity Development, three hydropower projects with a total capacity of 49 megawatts have already come into operation and remaining 17 with a total of 700.83 megawatts have got licenses for construction.
