Newar communities across Nepal are currently busy observing various traditional festivals.
On Friday, they observed Gai Jaatra or humour festival - which sets the stage for several festivals in the country.
In Lalitpur, Newar people have celebrated Narasimha Jatra, also called Upalakan Sayah.
In so doing, various members of the dance troupe went around town dressed as Narasimha, while others dressed and danced as Lakshmi, Saraswati and Prahlad.
To celebrate this festival, the Shatkul six clans under the Lalitpur Upakarma Guthi take turns on the basis of seniority.
The tradition of Narsimha Jatra dates back to Nepal Samvat 869.
