Are you planning to spend time outside this weekend? If so, you may not need to worry much. Still, you may need to carry your raincoat or umbrella as weather is generally unpredictable during monsoon.
After some intense monsoon rains midweek, clouds are occasionally disappearing, showing blue skies yet, the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) says, chances of light to moderate rainfall remain over the weekend.
Chances of rainfall remain in eastern Nepal or Province 1, while other areas too may see some rainfall as monsoon clouds continue to hover over Nepal. Chances of extremely heavy rainfall have been ruled out at least for now.
The monsoon wind is continuously showing its effect in many regions of the country. However, only light or medium rainfall is expected in the hilly areas of Nepal. Light rain is possible in the Tarai region as well.
Similarly, some areas of Sudurpaschim Province, Karnali province, Lumbini Province, and Gandaki Province will witness heavy rain.
The weather will remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country this week. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur in many regions of the country.
The government’s Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) warned monsoon activities are likely to continue for the next couple of days and possibly into the weekend when the water level in major rivers from east to far-west Nepal will likely rise significantly.
Authorities have alerted communities and local officials to step preparation and respond to water-induced disasters, which have already claimed several lives and caused huge losses.
