Three persons have been killed in two separate road accidents in Kurintar and Ratnanagar in Chitwan district in southern Nepal.
Two youths died after a motorcycle (Ba 88 Pa 5301) collided with a truck (Na 6 Kha 5913) from the same direction along the Prithvi Highway at Kurintar in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-4.
The truck was on its route to Narayanghat from Kathmandu.
The deceased are motorcyclist Saroj Rokaya, 25, of Dailekh and Saroj Majhi, 31, of Ishwarpur Rural Municipality-1 in Sarlahi district, the District Traffic Police Office confirmed.
The two youths breathed their last at Chitwan Medical College during their treatment.
Likewise, a pedestrian died while a jeep knocked him down near Khageri bridge in Ratnanagar Municipality-9, police said.
Seventy-one-year-old Khadak Bahadur Ranamagar, who was critically injured after the accident, died while receiving treatment at Chitwan Medical College Hospital this morning.
The jeep driver fled the scene after the accident, it is said.
Meanwhile, the local residents have staged protests on the site at present demanding arrest of the jeep driver.
