Landslides triggered by monsoon rains have disrupted vehicular movement along several roads in central and western Nepal.
The affected roads include the Narayanghat-Muglin and Pokhara-Baglung roads, where efforts are underway to remove debris, reports say.
Road traffic has been obstructed after the landslide occurred at Bharatpur metropolis-29, Kerabari, along the Narayanghat-Mugling section this morning.
Two-way road traffic has been disrupted due to landslide, said DSP Narahari Adhikari, the spokesperson of the District Police Office.
Also affected is the Pokhara-Baglung road in Gandaki province.
The road section along the Mid-Hill Highway has been obstructed due to incessant rain since Tuesday evening.
Landslide that occurred at Modi Rural Municipality-5, Bajung, Bhyaple in Parbat had disrupted the road since last night.
As boulders are rolling down on the road along with torrential rain, it was difficult to remove the debris and resume traffic operation, said the Chief at the District Traffic Police Office, Suman Neure.
Likewise, a similar problem has emerged in Modikhet (near to Bhyapl) when boulders blocked the road.
Police said that the boulders obstructing vehicular movement would be removed to bring back the road traffic.
Due to road blockage, several vehicles bound to different destinations from Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi and Mustang are being stranded on the road.
According to the police administration, the disrupted road would be brought into re-operation this afternoon. -RSS
