Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah's demolition campaign reached city's northern neighbourhoods where several unauthorised structures were pulled down, on Monday. 

On Monday afternoon, a team from the Kathmandu metropolis reached the Buspark area in Balaju, along with a bulldozer, to bring down the "illegally constructed structures".

KMC team led by Mayor Shah has been demolishing unauthorised structures for over a week. Prior to that the city office had issued a 35-day notice, urging the public to remove such structures.

The KMC has removed illegal structures in New Baneshwor, Suraj Arcade, RB Complex, Kathmandu Mall, and the underpass that connects Bhotahiti and Ratna Park.

This week, Mayor Shah completed 100 days of his tenure. He has indicated that he has got plans for the days ahead.
