Chitwan Gold Cup, one of the coveted football competitions in the country, will take place in Chitwan from September 10 to 19. 

A total of 10 national and international teams have confirmed their participation in the tournament, according to the organisers Bharatpur Football Club. 

Tournament coordinator Dhruba Bhusal said Tribhuvan Army Club, Armed Police Force (APF) Club, Manang FC, Bharatpur Football Club, JJYC Simara Club, Makawanpur Club, Bagmati Club and Pharsatikar FC have confirmed their participation.

Likewise, African side United of Cameroon and Motihari Club of India are other teams competing in the 10-day event.. 

The tournament offers the highest prize money, carrying a purse Rs700,000 for the winners, Rs350,000 for the runners-up. The tournment's organisation cost is estimated at Rs 7 million.

Preparations for the tournament are in the final stage and the stadium is being managed at Campachaur in Narayanghat, Bhusal said. - RSS
