Nepal Police investigators have arrested three motorcycle thieves involved in stealing motorcycles from different parts of Kathmandu valley and exchanging their spare parts with new motorcycles in Melamchi valley, 40 kilometres northeast of Kathmandu.
Some of them were involved in borrowing motorcycles for TikTok videos and absconding.
Police have identified them as Ramchandra Rawal, 32, and Nishan Sapkota, 18, of Melamchi Municipality-10; and Puskar Kafle, 32, of Indrawati Rural Municipality-4, Sindhupalchowk.
During the investigation, the police found out that they had stolen motorcycles from various parts of Kathmandu valley.
A team deployed from the Minbhawan-based Kathmandu Crime Investigation Office arrested them in Melamchi, with stolen motorcycles or their spare parts. They were also found selling and buying spare parts.
Some of them were found befriending motorcyclists to make TikTok videos and absconding with the speed machines.
After stealing, they would take the stolen motorcycles to Rawal Lathe and Engineering Workshop located in Melamchi Municipality-13, Sindhupalchowk, and exchange spare parts with another motorcycle.
They have been sent to Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha, for further investigation.
