Two dengue-infected patients, who were admitted to the Nepalgunj-based Bheri Hospital for treatment, died on Wednesday. 

An 86-year-old man from Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-8, Bardiya, and a 12-year-old girl from Tikapur Municipality-6, Kailali, breathed their last during treatment, informed the Chief Medical Superintendent of Bheri Hospital, Dr Badri Chapagain. 

According to him, the old man was admitted to the hospital on August 30 while the 12-year-old was taken to the hospital on September 4. 

The old man was also suffering from asthma and respiratory complications, and was being treated at the ICU of the hospital, Dr Chapagain shared. 

Inflow of dengue-infected patients to the hospital has increased lately for treatment, the hospital sources said. 

Meanwhile, the Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City has launched a campaign to search and destroy mosquito larva. 

Health Division Chief of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis, Ram Bahadur Chand, said the campaign of public awareness with search and destroy of mosquito larva was underway on a community level with the rise in dengue cases. - RSS
