An international art exhibition is showcasing artworks by international artists in Kathmandu.

It's being organised under the aegis of the Artshala Kala Kendra of Bangladesh. A group of artists belonging to Bangladeshi Artshala Center is in Nepal for the exhibition. The Center, together with the Department of Art and Culture of the Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation, is showcasing the artworks at Thamel-based Mithila Yain Art Gallery since Wednesday.

The artworks by 50 Bangladeshi artists and Nepal's senior artists, Shyam Sundar Yadav and Sijon Pokharel, are being displayed in the exhibition, which also showcases artworks of British artist Nausin Farjana and Danish artist Susana Herenssinimi.

Hobigunj Charukhola Academy Director and Artshala Operator, Ashish Acharya, said that the Artshala showcased international-level art for the first time in Nepal. He said it was also a matter of happiness for Bangladeshi artists to exhibit their artistic creations in culturally and naturally beautiful Nepal.

Chief of GP Koirala Foundation's Department of Art and Culture Shyam Sundar Yadav said the Foundation has been connecting artists across the globe. The Mithila Yain Art Gallery, which has been operational for the past 17 years, has hosted over 300 national and international art exhibitions. The art exhibition will conclude on Friday. - RSS
