More than 500 dengue cases confirmed in Karnali
Surkhet has been declared a dengue red zone with over 200 cases of infection
The number of dengue patients has crossed 540 in Karnali Province, with Surket reporting the highest infection among the districts in the region.
A total of 422 people have been infected in Surkhet, according to the Province Health Service Directorate, Birendranagar. Salyan and Jumla have reported 22 infection cases each, while Kalikot confirmed 21 and Dailekh 14.
Similarly, 18 cases have been reported in Rukum Paschim and one each in Humla and Dolpa district, said Shyam Acharya, the focal person for Dengue Control at the Province Health Service Directorate.
With more than 200 cases within Birendranagar city area, Surkhet has been declared a dengue red zone.
