Tanahu has reported a spike in dengue infections, with the district recording 99 new cases. Four hundred persons had undergone tests for the disease.
Chief of the District Health Office, Tanahu Shankar Babu Adhikari, said there is a growing shortage of hospital beds due to the surge of dengue patients.
CMA of the emergency section at the district hospital, Rajesh Chhetri, said that 11 persons tested positive for dengue last Saturday. Some 200 persons visit the hospital daily for dengue tests. Among them, 150 have a fever.
Some common symptoms of dengue are high fever, severe body aches, and nausea.
The hospital said it was urgent to raise public awareness against dengue.
Similarly, medical superintendent Abhinandan Tiwari suggested the patient adequate liquid intake and use of paracetamol to reduce fever. - RSS
