The Armed Police Force have entered the semi-finals with a nine-wicket victory in the Women’s T20 Cricket competition under ninth National Games. 

Following a target of 27 runs, the APF raced to the target, losing one wicket in 2.2 overs in the match held at the Pokhara Cricket Stadium on Thursday. 

After the dismissal of opener Jyoti Pandey for two, Indu Verma and Sita Ranamar took the APF home. Ranamar hit two fours to finish unbeaten on 12 runs off five balls, and Verma made unbeaten 9 runs with two fours off three balls. Gandaki captain Srishti Jaishi took one wicket.

Earlier, electing to bat first, Gandaki were skittled out for 26 runs in 18.2 overs. Captain Srishti Jaishi was the top scorer for Gandaki as none of their batters could reach double figures.

Opener Bindu Magar was run out after scoring 3 runs from 17 balls, with the team’s scorecard reading 9-1 in 5 overs. 

They lost wickets at regular intervals. Suman Bista bowled opener Sujitha Thapa for 3 runs from 17 balls. Simana KC also fell on 3 after playing 21 balls. Srijana Paudel and Kusum Godar were dismissed for two runs each. Four Gandaki batters returned to the pavilion without opening their account. 

APF's Verma returned with the ball to take two wickets, giving away four runs from three overs. Suman Bista, Neri Thapa, Nisha Bhatt and Sita Ranamar took one wicket apiece.


The APF, who had defeated Bagmati by four wickets in the first match, climbed up to the top of Group A with 4 points from two matches.

The APF will next play Madhesh Pradesh on Saturday. With the loss, Gandaki are out of the competition, rendering a match against Bagmati on Saturday inconsequential.
