Madhes Province defeated Sudurpaschim Province by 15 runs to bolster their chances for a place in the semi-final of the women's cricket tournament under the ninth National Games. 

Madhesh, who went into bat after winning the toss, scored 91 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. 

Sana Praveen top scored with 35 runs playing 49 balls with 3 fours. But the rest of the Madhes batters could not perform well, as opener Anuradha Chaudhary, Goma Ale, Saraswati Kumari, Santoshi Chaudhary and Pushpa Phuyal were dismissed cheaply. 

For Sudurpaschim, Savitri Dhami took four wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs, while Manisha Chaudhary and Yashu Pandey took one wicket each.

Chasing a winning target of 92 runs for victory, Sudurpaschim scored 76, losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.

Ritu Kanojia scored 27 runs off 38 balls with two fours and Rubi Poddar scored 12 runs in 37 balls. 

But the rest of the batters failed to deliver goods. Captain Bindu Rawal was dismissed for two runs, with Sneha Mahara departing after scoring nine runs and Yashoda Bisht (11). Three Sudurpaschim batters Anu Kadayat, Savitri Dhami and Yashu Pandey fell without scoring.

Madhesh bowlers Santoshi Chaudhary, Shanti Choudhary and Anuradha Chaudhary maintained tight line and length to capture two wickets apiece. Saraswati Chaudhary took one wicket.

The win has put Madhesh level on four points with the Armed Police Force in Group A after two matches. The APF, however, lead the group on a better net run rate. Madhesh play the APF on Saturday and Bagmati on Sunday. 

Bagmati Pradesh, in third place with two points, take Gandaki on Saturday and Madhesh Pradesh on Sunday. Sudurpaschim are fourth with two points from three matches.

Gandaki are at the bottom of the pile and were the first side to be eliminated from the competition.
In Group B, Nepal Police Club are at the top with four points from two matches, followed by Lumbini with three points. Province 1 are third with one point, while Karnali have no points after losing both matches.
