Jumla, a district in the Karnali province, has started facing a shortage of cooking gas and petroleum products stemming from the obstruction of the Karnai highway following incessant rainfall.
Consumers have been facing difficulties because of a lack of sufficient amounts of cooking gas and petroleum products in market.
Assistant Chief District Officer, Pramila Rijal, said the shortage of petroleum products has been seen in the market following the disruption of the Karnali highway.
A joint team headed by the Deputy Mayor of Chandannath Municipality, Ram Devi Khadka, and Assistant Chief District Officer, Rijal, had carried out monitoring of groceries and dealers of petroleum products after receiving the complaint of black marketing in the name of road disruption.
In course of market monitoring, a shortage of petroleum products was found at the district headquarter.
Rijal shared that there is a stock of foodstuff and edible oil in the market which is enough for around two months. The team carried out monitoring in 10 different shops.
According to the Jumla Road Division Office efforts are underway to resume the vehicular movement along the road as soon as possible. – RSS
