Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) maintained their dominance at the ninth National Games, adding 106 medals, including 51 gold, on Wednesday.

TAC closed the event’s penultimate day, consolidating their position at the top with 267 medals, including 125 gold, 80 silver and 62 bronze.

As well as winning women’s rugby and women’s hockey finals, the Army gathered four out of eight gold medals from the men’s and women’s cycling events. Three of the gold medals came in archery, two in athletics and one in the men’s triathlon.

TAC added three gold medals: one from ITF taekwondo blue belt pattern, one from women’s 70kg judo and one from men’s 51kg boxing.

The Tribhuvan Army Club first participated in the seventh National Games in 2016, winning 225 medals, including 113 gold. They finished on top of the medal tally with 289 medals, including 140 gold, at the eighth Nationals in 2019.

Nepal Police Club are in a distant second position with 144 medals: 48 gold, 44 silver, and 52 bronze. Armed Police Force hold the third position with 148 medals: 37 gold, 44 silver, and 67 bronze.
