Police have arrested a Kathmandu hotel manager involved in allegedly recording obscene videos of guests staying in the property.

Mukesh Mali, 42, a resident of Chandragiri, worked as the manager of Bansbari Restaurant Cafe and Lodge in Bansbari, Kathmandu. He is accused of secretly filming private activities of the hotel guests.

According to the District Police Range, Kathmandu, a police team dispatched from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj, arrested him after receiving a complaint that he secretly filmed his guests’ private activities.

When the team reached the hotel and checked his mobile phone, police found recorded videos of various people staying in the lodge.

Police have seized an iPhone 12 Pro Max with obscene videos in it.

Metropolitan Police Circle, Maharajgunj, is doing further investigations by keeping him in custody, for which Kathmandu District Court has given five days.

Police say he could be tried under section 118 of Civil Crime Act 2017. The section deals with crimes against public issues, health, security and morality.
