Nepal-German Mart 22 kicked off in Kathmandu on Saturday, showcasing products as well as food and culture of Nepal and Germany as the two countries strive to promote bilateral trade post-Covid-19 pandemic.
The exhibition is organised by the Nepal-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NGCCI) in cooperation with the German Embassy in Kathmandu.
"Our aim is to continue the positive development in bilateral trade which was interrupted by two years of Covid-19 pandemic," said German Ambassador to Nepal Thomas Prinz, while inaugurating the exhibition.
Forty companies from Nepal and Germany are participating in the exhibition that brings stalls from companies representing the hydropower, automobile, and tourism sector. In addition, stalls showcasing carpets, felts and handicrafts are among the exhibition's highlights. It also features Nepali and German culinary stalls.
On Sunday (October 30), there will be a cultural dance programme. "The goal of the exhibition is to create a networking platform between Nepal and Germany to contribute to bilateral economic relations," the embassy said in a statement.
The exhibition, which is underway at the German Embassy in physical form, will also be showcased virtually on www.nepal-germanmart22.com till November 4.
Around 800 people are expected to visit the exhibition in person, while another 7,000 are expected to log on virtually.
