A fire that broke out in a mobile shop in Chaumala Bazar of Gauriganga Municipality-1 in Kailali last night gutted goods worth Rs10 million.

It has been reported that the fire ignited due to a short-circuit and spread to other nearby shops. It was doused almost an hour later with the help of fire brigades from the Ghodaghodi and Godavari municipalities, police, and people from the neighbourhood.

Besides the loss of goods worth Rs1.2 million in the shop owned by Himal Punmagar, the fire has destroyed goods worth Rs150,000 in Bishnukumar Pandey's Lumbini Hotel, Rs1.5 million in Jaisingh Bhandari's grocery shop, and Rs 1 million worth of goods in the mobile shop of Paras Sapkota, according to Bed Prakash Joshi, spokesperson for the District Police Office. 

Similarly, goods worth Rs4.5 million in the hardware shop of Chabi Lal Khanal and Rs3 million in the shoe store of Tanka Prasad Acharya were also destroyed, added Joshi. - RSS
