Nepalis from mountains to plains enjoyed some of the finest weather conditions this past week, which coincided with one of the biggest Hindu festivals, Deepawali or Tihar.

Marking Tihar week, Nepalis from east to west engaged in a variety of activities, including Deusi-Bhailo singing and dancing, and sight-seeing, among other things. Even so, many Nepalis remained busy in their shops and farms.

Soon after Tihar was over, on Sunday many Nepalis observed Chhath Puja, offering prayers to the Sun.
