A fine piece of bowling from captain Bipin Khatri led Gandaki Province to a 69-run win over Sudurpaschim Province in the Prime Minister's Cup National One-Day Cricket Tournament at the TU Ground on Monday.

Gandaki, who won the toss and decided to make the first use of the crease, posted 208 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs.
Khatri snared four wickets to derail Sudurpaschim in their chase as they were bowled out for 139 runs in 32.2 overs.

Arjun Kumal top scored for Gandaki with 63 runs in 105 balls with 10 fours. He shared 68 runs with Samir Kandel for the opening wicket in 23.1 overs. Kandel made 26 runs off 71 balls with four fours.

Bidhan Shrestha and Abhishek Basnet then contributed 25 runs each. Shrestha hit five fours playing 34 balls, while Basnet hit two fours in 34 balls. Sandeep Chhetri made 19 runs, while Kamal Pariyar and Bipin Khatri scored 13 runs each.

For Sudurpaschim, Kailash Aiyer, Narayan Joshi and Sher Malla all picked two wickets each, while Naren Saud took one wicket.

In reply, Raju Rijal and Milan Bohara opened Sudur Paschim’s innings. Rijal was sent packing in the fourth ball of the first over with just three runs on the board.

Milan Bohara and Gajendra Bohara shared a 98-run partnership for the second wicket. Milan made a half-century, scoring 51 off of 64 balls, and Gajendra played more patently on his way to 35 from 65 balls.

But both of them returned in quick succession. Gajendra was caught out in the 22nd over and Milan was caught out in the next over.

Sudurpaschim soon lost their way, losing seven wickets in the next nine overs adding just 34 runs.
Basant Karki was the only other batter to reach double figures scoring 10. Dipak Tamata, Narayan Joshi and Naren Saud all were sent packing for 0. Basant Khatri scored 9, Sher Malla (3), Hemant Dhami (8) and Kailash Ayer (2).

Gandaki’s right-arm medium pacer Bipin Khatri took four wickets. Subash Bhandari and Avishek Basnet picked two wickets each, while Amrit Gurung and Kamal Pariyar took one each.
