Armed Police Force registered their second win in the Prime Minister’s Cup National One-day Cricket Tournament, beating Sudurpaschim by 10 wickets in a Group A match at the Mulpani Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

Sent out to bat first, Sudurpaschim were bowled out for just 67 runs in 27 overs.

Raju Rijal scored 24 runs for Sudurpaschim but got no support from his teammates.

Openers Gajendra Bhandari and Gajendra Bohara were dismissed with just 16 runs on the board.

Milan Bohara who scored a half-century on Monday against Gandaki was dismissed for a duck. Sher Malla and Hemant Dhami also returned without scoring.

Birendra Nath scored 4, Basnata Karki (5), Basant Khatri (1), Naren Saud (1) and Narayan Joshi managed 9 runs.

Slow left-arm bowler Bhuvan Karki picked up four wickets from nine overs giving away just 22 runs.

Bagmati’s Kamal Airee and Mousom Dhakal picked up two wickets each while Kishore Mahato and Amar Routela shared one each.

APF chased down the target of 68 runs in just 11.2 overs without losing any wickets.

Openers Aasif Sheikh and Pradeep Airey hardly broke a sweat as APF raced to victory. Sheikh scored 42 from 32 balls which included seven fours and a six while Airey scored 25 off of 36 balls with a four and two sixes.

The win puts APF on top of the Group A table with four points from two matches.

On Sunday, APF had beaten Tribhuvan Army Club by 56 runs. They will now face Gandaki Province at the Mulpani Cricket Ground on Friday.
