Ankit Subedi scored a fine century as Province 1 beat Bagmati Province by 69 runs in a Group B match of the ongoing Prime Minister Cup National One-day Cricket Tournament at the TU Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

Province 1, who won the toss and elected to bat first, piled 304 runs in 49.5 overs and bowled out Bagmati for 235 runs in 45.5 overs.

Province lost Niraj Mukhiya, Luv Kamat and Minash Thapa with just 67 runs on the board.

Opener Ankit Subedi and Bibek Anand Mehta shared a 76-run partnership for the fourth wicket, which laid a good foundation for the remainder of the innings.

Mehta was dismissed in the 29th over, and Sonu Asari departed soon after scoring 19 runs.

That brought Siddhant Lohani, who shared a 102-run partnership with Subedi for the sixth wicket. Subedi went on to score a century, making 110 off of 134 balls, including 12 fours and a six.

Lohani played an explosive cameo of 72 runs from 40 balls, including three fours and eight sixes.

Batters Sujan Thapaliya scored 5, Sarwan Yadav (11) and Firdos Ansari (10) to take Province 1 across the 300-mark.

Bagmati’s right-arm medium pacer Ramnaresh Giri took five wickets. Nandan Yadav, Surya Tamang, Pratis GC and Ishan Pandey picked up one wicket each.

Ishan Pandey and Rit Gautam took to the field to open Bagmati innings. Pandey scored 35 runs, but Gautam was dismissed cheaply for 8.

Bagmati began losing wickets in quick succession, Ashutosh Ghiraiya was sent back scoring 14, Gyanendra Malla (27), and Prithu Baskota (4).

Nandan Yadav and Durgesh Thapa put on a 59-run partnership for the sixth wicket, but it was not enough.  

Thapa scored 26 from 43 balls before being caught out in the 35th over. Yadav scored 43 runs but was bowled in the 37th over.

Bagmati were bowled out in the 45th over, putting up 235 runs.

For Province 1, Sarwan Yadav took three wickets, while Firdosh Ansari, Dipak Joshi, and Siddhant Lohani took two wickets each and Luv Kamat took one.
