Nepal Minute - out of the ordinary

Elections 2022

The Election Commission (EC) is fully geared up for November 20 elections, with millions of ballot papers printed.

Approximately 80 million ballot papers - 40 million for the first-past-the-post and as many for the proportional election - have been printed, the commission said.

Over 17.9 million eligible voters are participating in the elections of the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly.

Also, the task of transporting ballot papers to the designated polling centres and stations for proportional representation has been completed.

The EC is currently busy supplying the essentials under the first-past-the-post system.

On Friday, the ballot papers were supplied to Taplejung, Panchthar, Ilam, Jhapa, Sankhuwasabha, Terhathum, Bhojpur, Dhankuta, Morang, and Sunsari districts. Similarly, the ballot papers were supplied to Gandaki, Karnali, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim Provinces. - RSS
