Nepal Minute - out of the ordinary

Football

Nepal registered their second successive win at the SAFF U-15 Women's Championship, beating Bangladesh 1-0 in Dhaka on Saturday.

Barsha Oli’s strike in the 87th minute proved decisive in the match against the hosts at the Mostafa Kamal Stadium. Bangladesh goalkeeper Songgita Rani misjudged a Simran Rai free kick from outside the penalty box and Oli nodded home the winner - her fifth in the competition.

Earlier, Nepal demolished Bhutan 7-0 in their opening game. Oli scored four goals in the match.
Saturday’s win puts Nepal on the top of the points table with six points after the first round of matches in the three-team competition.

Bangladesh are in second place with three points, while Bhutan are without a point. Bhutan also defeated 8-0 in the first match.

The team with the most points in the double round-robin league will be the winners. Another win against Bhutan in their second meeting on Wednesday will give Nepal the title even if they play out a draw with Bangladesh on Friday.
